Angry at her son who was caught watching pornographic videos on his phone, a woman decided to lash out her anger by pouring hot water right on him.
Sinar Harian reported that the incident took place at a government staff housing estate in Sungai Udang, Melaka, at around 2.56am on June 27, 2022.

In the incident, the 13-year-old victim, who was the second out of five siblings, was caught watching pornographic videos using the 38-year-old accused’s phone and mobile data.
Unable to control her temper, the accused proceeded to pour hot water on him, resulting in injuries.
The victim’s injuries were later noticed by one of his friends, who then informed his mother about it. A police report was subsequently lodged.
Jailed 3 years
At the Sessions Court yesterday (Jan 31), the accused pleaded guilty to the charge of causing grievous hurt to her son when the charges were read to her before Judge Mohd Sabri Ismail.
The charges were framed under Section 326 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 326A of the same code, which provides for a prison sentence of up to 20 years and subjected to a fine or whipping if convicted.
The accused, who was unrepresented, appealed for leniency as she has a 6-year-old disabled child and two other children aged four and a six-months respectively.
She also said she was a psychiatric patient who faced tremendous pressure since the incident, causing her to increase her medication dosage from 50 milligrams to 100 milligrams daily with the doctor’s approval.
Deputy public prosecutor Nazrin Ali Rahim asked the court to mete out an appropriate sentence to serve as a lesson for both the accused and the public.
The woman was later handed a three-year jail sentence and was ordered to serve it starting from the date of her arrest on July 8, 2023.
