While it’s not common for one to place an order on food delivery platforms at odd hours of the day, there are times where unforeseen circumstances may force one to do so.
A woman was left feeling insulted and disrespected after a food delivery rider lashed out at her for ordering a bottle of isotonic drink at around midnight, something which annoyed him greatly.
M’sian woman orders drink at 12am, gets rude reply from rider
In a Threads post by @liadaily, she posted a screenshot of a conversation she had with the delivery rider after placing an order for an isotonic drink around 12am.

In the screenshot, the rider was visibly annoyed by the fact that the order was made this late and typed, ‘Oh, my God. Just an order for an isotonic drink.’
This caused the woman to become puzzled by the rider’s message, causing her to ask him what was the matter and to cancel the order if he wasn’t able or willing to pick it up.
Instead of apologising for his outburst, the rider continued on his passive-aggressive rant, where he replied in a sarcastic manner: “Yeah, please drink until you get diabetes…please go on ahead.”

Although the woman eventually got her order, the rider’s rudeness left a bad taste in her mouth and she couldn’t help but to give him a piece of her mind.
“If you’re tired, just go offline. Don’t lash out on customers like this. There’s a reason why customers place an order at midnight. If I could buy it myself, I would’ve done so. First time meeting such a rude rider,” she wrote.
In the comment section, the woman revealed that the reason why she ordered the isotonic drink via the delivery app was because she had a fever and had no one to help her buy it.
‘Why so rude?’
Unsurprisingly, netizens weren’t having any of the rider’s lack of manners and promptly bashed him for acting out.
‘Order 1 item, they get angry. Order so much items until their bag can’t fit everything, they will also get angry.’

‘I’m a Grab rider. No matter whether it’s 1 tin, water bottle, or packeted drink, I’ll still be happy. Grab calculates (our earnings) by distance, not by kg. Aiyooo. Too many riders are becoming rude. If you don’t want, just cancel. Simple!’

Another urged the woman to file a complaint with the delivery company, to which she replied by saying that she had already done so.
