Now that the Raya holiday has come to an end, Malaysians are heading back to the city to resume their work routine. However, many of them have found themselves caught in terrible traffic jams, with some lasting for hours.
Thankfully, there are some kind Malaysians who have gone out of their way to help those stuck in traffic, like this woman who offered her own toilet for the pubic to use.
M’sian woman offers her toilet for public use
This was captured in a TikTok video which was uploaded by Anis (@r.nisss) yesterday (Apr 14), where it begins with her writing a signboard which read: ‘Free toilet. Just enter!’
The sign was then placed on an easel stand near her front gate, where a line of cars stuck in traffic could be seen extending for several metres.
Unsurprisingly, many of these drivers took the opportunity to use Anis’ toilet and queued up to wait for their turn to relieve themselves.
Based on a comment left by Anis, the incident took place at her home located at Setiu Saujana, Terengganu.
Not the first time doing so
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Anis said that this wasn’t her first time offering her toilet for free to the public, saying that she had done so last year during Hari Raya Haji.
She added that aside from offering the toilet, she also opened up her home for those who needed to charge their phones and perform their prayers.
“Approximately 100 people came to use the toilet on that day and I also offered bottled mineral water and hot water to those who needed to make milk for their kids. Some even used the toilet to shower their children too,” she said.
Praised for her kindness
The clip has since gone super viral, where it garnered 2.3 million views at the time of writing.
Those who benefitted from Anis’ kindness and several netizens commended her for being so generous to complete strangers.
Meanwhile, one jokingly suggested that Anis could make a profit by selling water and kuih to those who stopped by.
In the same vein, another remarked that Anis would have to foot a hefty water bill after having so many people use the toilet.
