A Malaysian woman recently went viral on Threads after sharing a series of posts about a confusing discovery involving her husband.
What started with her allegedly finding lipstick in his bag later escalated into an even bigger mystery when she claimed she found a makeup bag, a pair of heels and a wig hidden inside his car boot.
The posts have since sparked plenty of reactions online, with netizens offering all kinds of theories over what might really be going on.
Married for 8 years with 3 young children
In an earlier post, the woman shared that she has been married for eight years and has three children, all aged below three.
She said she wanted to ask netizens for their opinion as she felt something was off in her marriage.
According to her, her husband had allegedly become distant after she gave birth the year before.
Is it normal for a husband to no longer be affectionate with his wife?” she wrote.
She claimed that after giving birth last year, her weight had increased to 90kg, and when she asked her husband why he was no longer affectionate towards her, he allegedly said it was because of her body.
The woman added that she wanted to lose weight but struggled to find the time as she had to work and handle household matters after returning home.
She also claimed that whenever she asked her husband to help look after the children so she could exercise, he would tell her to do it later.
Found lipstick in his bag
In the same post, the woman claimed that she later opened her husband’s bag and found a lipstick inside.
“I opened his bag and saw lipstick,” she wrote.
She said she was tired of arguing because whenever they fought, her husband would allegedly be the one leaving the house and later act as if she was at fault.
Feeling stressed and unsure of what to do, she asked netizens for advice, saying that she already has three children and does not know whether divorce is the right decision.
What should I do? I want to divorce, but I already have three children. I want to lose weight but I don’t have money. I’m so stressed,” she wrote.
Later found heels, wig & makeup bag in car boot
A day later, the woman shared another post claiming that she found more items inside her husband’s car boot.
This time, she said she discovered a makeup bag, a pair of heels and what appeared to be a wig.
Guys! What is this? I’m confused as to why there’s a makeup bag, heels and a wig inside my husband’s car boot,” she wrote.
“I searched through it last night while he was asleep. The items were kept inside a white plastic bag, as if he was trying to hide them.”
She also questioned whether her husband thought she would not notice the items.
“Did he think that by mixing them with my things, I wouldn’t be able to detect it?” she wrote.
Clearly upset by the discovery, she then questioned where the items came from.
Which cheap woman did you even pick these up from?” she wrote.
Items allegedly covered with IKEA bag
In a follow up post, the woman further claimed that the items were hidden inside a white plastic bag and covered with an IKEA bag.
“He thought he was smart, hiding the items in a white plastic bag and covering it with an IKEA bag,” she wrote.
The photo attached to the post showed what appeared to be orange animal print heels, a dark wig and several bags inside the car boot.
Her post quickly caught attention on Threads, with one of the posts gaining over 10,000 likes and thousands of comments at the time the screenshot was taken.
Netizens turned into detectives
As expected, netizens wasted no time putting on their detective hats.
Some initially speculated that the items may belong to another woman.
However, others had a very different theory and suggested that the items might actually belong to the husband himself.
One commenter wrote that she did not think the husband was keeping another woman’s belongings.
“I don’t think your husband is keeping another woman’s things. I think your husband is actually becoming the woman,” the commenter wrote.
Another netizen agreed with the theory, joking that the heels looked unusually large.
“True! It’s rare for women to wear heels that are that huge,” the commenter wrote.
Some shared similar stories
One netizen also shared a story about a friend who allegedly went through something similar with her husband.
According to the commenter, the friend once woke up late at night and went downstairs, only to see someone dressed in women’s clothing on the sofa.
The commenter claimed that when the friend tried to confront the person, she later realised it was actually her own husband.
The husband allegedly explained that the outfit was for his own private use and not something he wore in public.
The commenter added that the couple had since separated but remained on good terms.
Still unclear who the items belong to
At the time of writing, it is still unclear who the lipstick, heels, makeup bag and wig belonged to.
It is also unclear whether the woman has received an explanation from her husband.
While many netizens were busy speculating, some also advised her not to jump to conclusions too quickly and to speak to her husband directly.
