A Malaysian woman has been celebrated internationally after heroically rescuing a Sri Lankan man from drowning at Diyaluma Falls.
Farah Putri Mulyani’s quick-thinking and courageous actions have earned her widespread praise, turning a peaceful holiday moment into a life-saving encounter.
By the way, Diyaluma Falls is Sri Lanka’s second tallest waterfall. The brave lady shared this moment on her Facebook account, posting a clip of the incident and her heroic rescue.
A sudden turn of events
Farah, who was enjoying a vacation in Sri Lanka, had been casually filming herself near the waterfall when she heard urgent calls for help from the man’s companions.
Initially, she was unaware of the unfolding emergency, but as the situation became clear, Farah’s instinct kicked in.
Without a second thought, she dove into the deep, fast-moving waters where the man was struggling to stay afloat.
A heroic rescue
After a tense and challenging struggle in the water, Farah managed to reach the man and bring him to safety.
She emerged from the water with the man by her side, and his companions rushed to help him to solid ground.
Overcome with relief and gratitude, they expressed their heartfelt thanks to Farah for her timely intervention.

She also took the opportunity to reflect on the experience:
“This incident changed the tone of my trip. I think more people should be aware of waterfall hazards because the pool can drop so deep, and there’s no current to help you swim! If you’re not a swimmer, it puts you in even more danger! Admittedly, I’ve been in reflective mode since.”
