[UPDATED] M’sian Woman Finds Bed Bugs On Bedsheets At Putrajaya Hotel, Claims Staff Didn’t Seem To Care

Eeeeeeee.
A woman and her husband had a shock of their lives when they discovered something less pleasant crawling all over the bedsheets at a hotel in Putrajaya.

In a clip shared on TikTok by @ceklatkek, it showed two bed bugs scuttling all over the bedsheets, much to the couple’s horror.

In the caption, the OP wrote that she was about to go to sleep at 12.30am when she saw a “small black thing” crawling beside her head on the pillow.

I thought it was an ant. It later turned out to be a BED BUG. I switched on the torchlight, thinking there was just one. But no, there were TWO bed bugs. And there were EGGS too!

“My husband and I immediately leaped out from the bed as we were afraid the bed bugs would crawl onto our clothes or skin,” she wrote.

Alleged staff were indifferent

The couple then called housekeeping, who then gave them a new room key but allegedly didn’t say “sorry” for the incident. However, the couple were too exhausted to say anything and decided to complain at the front desk the next day.

When they did so upon checking out, the female receptionist reportedly replied with a “Oh, really?” along with a sheepish smile — a response which left the OP fuming.

“Is that how your customer service is? Don’t you know bed bugs are no joke? Is that the way to handle customer feedback? Without even an apology?”

Left with no other recourse, the OP decided to make the issue public by posting the video, which has since racked up 1.4 million views so far.

She later revealed in a separate video that the hotel manager has since reached out to her and gave her a full refund.

However, she insisted that the hotel issue a public statement about the incident to show its commitment to customer service and take responsibility.

Hotel’s response

In response to WeirdKaya’s enquiries, the hotel expressed regret over the incident and said a “thorough investigation” is underway.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to guest comfort and safety, our hotel engages a professional company to perform monthly pest control treatments and conducts weekly spring cleaning.

“These measures are in place to ensure that our rooms are consistently maintained in excellent condition, providing a healthy and pleasant environment for all our valued guests.”
