Sometimes, it’s not just the food that makes a dining experience special, it’s the unexpected surprises along the way.
Maybe it’s a waiter who cracks jokes, a chef who adds a personal touch to your dish, or even a restaurant that turns your meal into a full-blown performance.
One Japanese buffet in Johor Bahru, Kuroma Buffet & Dining, is doing exactly that, giving diners a show while serving up delicious food.
A TikTok user recently shared her experience at the restaurant, where the highlight wasn’t just the fresh seafood, but also the chefs and staff dancing, hyping up customers, and even playing with fire!
Chefs who cook & dance? Say no more
Imagine sitting down for dinner when, out of nowhere, the restaurant staff gather in the middle of the food section.
That’s exactly what happened in Fasha Syahira’s viral TikTok video.
Just as the song Malatanghulu started playing, the chefs and staff broke into a dance routine, hyping up the customers with their energy.
But it didn’t stop there. One of the chefs, fully decked in white, whipped out a special lighter and lit up flames while preparing food, talk about a show!
According to Syahira, the dance performances last about five to 10 minutes, adding the perfect touch of excitement before diners go back to enjoying their meal.
And the best part? They kept cooking and dancing at the same time, syncing their moves with the music like pros.
Not just a one-time thing
Turns out, this isn’t a once-in-a-blue-moon performance.
In another clip, Syahira showed the restaurant staff dancing to Mamushi by Megan Thee Stallion and Yuki Chiba. The whole experience felt like a mix of a buffet and a mini concert.
‘Worth every cent, the seafood was chef’s kiss’
Now, let’s talk about the food. Because while the entertainment is cool, it’s still a buffet at the end of the day and according to Syahira, the food did not disappoint, she told WeirdKaya.
For RM179 per person, she said the buffet was totally worth it. Her top picks? The clams with special toppings, large and fresh oysters, and the spaghetti.

She also loved how welcoming and interactive the staff were. “If you want to join the dance, you totally can!” she added.
For those planning a birthday dinner or any special occasion, she highly recommends the place because they also offer event setups so you can have your party and enjoy the show.
When asked if she’d return, Syahira didn’t even hesitate, saying, “I wouldn’t even think twice if my friends wanted to go again! The staff service is 10/10. You can even order special menus like wagyu.”
