Let’s be honest, one of the most annoying parts of doing laundry is folding the clothes afterward, right? Many of us would rather do anything else than sit down and deal with a mountain of clean laundry.
But guess what? Some people are turning this dreaded chore into a full-on business and making serious money from it!
Recently, a post on X (formerly Twitter) went viral, revealing that it’s possible to earn up to RM7,000 a month just by folding clothes.

Turn Laundry Into Cash
An X user, @TemahUluBanat shared a post along with a screenshot sharing how people are cashing in by folding laundry.
The caption read: “Laundry folding business. A lot of people can wash clothes, but not everyone has the patience to fold them! Haha. We should open this next to self-service laundromats.”
In the screenshot, a woman explained how she earns between RM500 to RM700 by folding clothes just three times a week.
She also shared that their top agent last month earned more than RM7,000 by taking on laundry-folding contracts with homestays.

Ramai boleh basuh baju, tapi tak semua orang boleh lipat kain. Haha.

Since then, the post has garnered over 400,000 views, with tons of netizens chiming in to share their thoughts and some even expressing interest in the business!
One user recounted their own experience:
“When I was a student, I used to take up folding jobs as a part-time gig, focusing on spas, hotels, and salons. I managed to save up enough to go on a 3-day trip to Hatyai!”

Others were eager to sign up:
“Hahaha, how do I become an agent? I actually enjoy folding clothes! But when it comes to hanging them out to dry, I’d gladly pass that task to someone else! I can easily fold 3 or 4 baskets of clothes just sitting down.”

Some netizens also found the idea of a folding service genius, especially for those who struggle with getting their laundry in order.
“This is amazing! I’m good at washing clothes but terrible at folding and ironing. A service like this would be super useful.”

After all, if there’s demand, why not? Who would’ve thought that folding clothes could turn into a high-paying job?
