Whenever we go shopping, we would often head straight for the freshest and best products. However, there are some who would bend the rules in order to do so.
A woman was recently caught in broad daylight swapping out eggs from a box into another one just so that she could secure the best eggs even though it’s wrong and unhygienic.
M’sian woman caught swapping eggs on film
In a 53-second clip uploaded to Facebook by a netizen named Yi Ting, it started out with a middle-aged woman reaching for a carton of eggs from within a cardboard box. For a split second, she looks around to ensure no one else was in sight.

After getting the first carton, she then reaches out for another carton of eggs which was placed within a different cardboard box.
For the next 20 seconds or so, the woman busies herself with switching eggs from one carton to the other, an act which isn’t permissible.
Unbeknownst to her, her improper act was caught all on camera by the OP, who recorded her from behind.

In the caption, the OP slammed the woman for her selfish act and lamented whether “society had changed or people have become less cultured”.
“She was buying B-grade eggs but picked out A-grade eggs. Aunty, I suggest that you bring a scale next time and weigh them on the spot as using your hands isn’t that accurate.
“Otherwise, you could just bring your scale directly to the market. Weigh the eggs first, then tell the seller you want those 10 eggs,” remarked the OP sarcastically.
The OP later revealed in the comment section that the incident took place at a supermarket in Bercham, Ipoh.
Netizens slam woman’s actions
Needless to say, the clip stirred up anger among netizens, who were outraged by the woman’s selfishness as what she did was akin to stealing.
‘She has money to wear an Apple Watch, but has no money to buy eggs.’

‘Such cheap behaviour.’

One suggested the OP to sneak up on the woman from behind and scare her, which will cause her to drop the eggs and be forced to buy all of them.

Another urged the OP to lodge a report with the supermarket’s management, to which the OP replied by saying that she had already alerted the staff about the incident,

This isn’t the first time people have been caught swapping products between different containers at supermarkets:
