However, when the staff was not looking, she placed six cans of abalone and a packet of snacks into her own eco-friendly bag, paying for only one item at the counter before leaving the premises.

Her actions were recorded by the store’s CCTV system. Despite this evidence, the store only requested that the woman return within two days to pay for the items to avoid legal action.

Upon closer inspection, the store found that the woman had stolen additional food items, amounting to a total of RM348.40.

She went to the shop yesterday (24 Jan) at 4:25 PM to offer an apology and pay back the money but requested for the video to be removed or at least censored.

Despite her willingness to return the stolen items, the store declined her request to remove the CCTV footage or censor her car’s license plate number.

The store emphasized its commitment to fairness and justice, ultimately leading to the woman’s decision to pay for all the stolen items.

The store has documented her actions to ensure that she properly paid for the items.

They expressed their gratitude to their customers for their cooperation and apologized for any inconvenience caused by the incident.

The store owners hope that this incident can now be put to rest and serve as a reminder that theft is not the right solution to problems.

They stated, “We adhere to a belief in human integrity and hope for better communication in the future to prevent similar incidents.”
