It is more common these days with people taking their pets with them whenever dining outdoors. However, most restaurants and eateries do not allow dogs in their premises due to potential hygienic problems.
Recently, a woman has stirred controversy among netizens for bringing a dog to a Mamak stall to dine, even going as far as to place the dog on a chair.
According to a social media post by a person believed to be the operator of the Mamak stall, the incident began when a single woman arrived at the restaurant in Kuala Lumpur for a meal.
She was soon joined by another woman who brought a dog with her and allowed it to sit on a chair.
Upon discovering this, the staff immediately approached the women to address the issue. The women subsequently apologized to the staff and left the premises.
The operator later posted an update saying that they had promptly cleaned and disinfected all the tables and chairs in the stall following the incident.
The episode took place in Bukit Beruntung and has generated a lot of discussion online.
Many netizens criticized the two women for showing a lack of respect for the Muslim customers who were dining at the Mamak stall, given that dogs are considered impure in Islamic tradition.
Some netizens also suggested that the stall operator should put up a sign prohibiting the entry of dogs, as a reminder to future customers.
