In the high-end quarters of KLCC, a Malaysian food vlogger encountered a rare indulgence – the Paraiso Gold Coffee, with a price tag that might raise eyebrows.
At RM1,216 per cup, this coffee boasts an exotic lineage, hailing from South America and thriving at an altitude of 1,100 meters.
Non-coffee lover’s review
The customer said she is not a coffee person, but out of curiosity about the hefty price tag, she came to try it.
“It’s one of the rarest coffees in the world, and it’s not easy to grow the tree. The beans are also limited,” the waiter explained to the customer.
Despite the hefty price tag, the vlogger’s verdict was surprisingly down-to-earth. After tasting the coffee, she remarked, “It tastes just like other coffees. I don’t know how to admire this cup of coffee.”
Contrary to the coffee’s ordinary taste, she was thoroughly impressed by the pastry she ordered alongside, describing it as “really tasty.”
The question remains: Is the price of such exclusive coffees justified by their taste, or is it the rarity that brews the real magic?
