A devastating fire erupted early this morning at a residential house in Liman Kati, Kuala Kangsar, Perak, resulting in the death of a 36-year-old Chinese man who was tragically burned beyond recognition.
According to an official Facebook statement, the Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 1:10 AM and immediately dispatched a team to the scene, located on Jalan Kampong Baru Liman Kati, approximately 10 kilometers away.
90% destroyed when firefighters arrived
The operation was reinforced by the Lenggong Fire and Rescue Department, bringing a total of 18 firefighters to combat the blaze.

The fire consumed a 20 by 80-foot residential property, which was already 90% destroyed by the time firefighters arrived about 20 minutes later.
Firefighters used three 100-foot-long hoses to extinguish the fire, successfully bringing it under control within four minutes. The firefighting operation was completed by 2:15 AM.

Fundraising for Deceased’s Mother
The victim, who was trapped in the kitchen, succumbed to the flames and was found severely burned. The victim’s body has been handed over to the police and transported to Kuala Kangsar Hospital for an autopsy.
In response to the tragedy, the Liman Kati Development and Security Committee has initiated a fundraising effort to assist the deceased’s mother, Madam Wong.
