Just when you thought KL’s skyline couldn’t get any cooler, a Malaysian visual effects artist has turned the tables (or should we say towers?) by adding a dash of history and a sprinkle of future tech to Merdeka 118.

A local creative studio, garispxl.co, posted a jaw-dropping 25-second video on Instagram that has Malaysians’ keyboards going wild.
The video shows a helicopter taking off from a helipad at Menara Takaful Malaysia. The helipad is lit up with the colors of the Malaysian flag.

The helicopter then flies into Merdeka 118, and the building itself transforms into a silhouette of Tunku Abdul Rahman, mimicking the historic freedom chant from 1957.

2 weeks spent for the spectacular video
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the creators said it took about two weeks to make the video.
“The video aims to highlight the concept behind the PNB 118, which is the standing Tunku Abdul Rahman chanting Merdeka.”
“The key message we hope viewers take away is the architectural marvel and significance of PNB 118 in the city’s skyline, as well as its contribution to the urban landscape and economic growth of Malaysia.”

So, what are your thoughts? Is this the coolest Merdeka celebration ever or what?
