RIP kidneys.
While Malaysia is known for its mouthwatering food that has delighted the tastebuds of locals and tourists alike, it’s unfortunately also famous for being one of the most unhealthy cuisine in the Southeast Asian region.

A vendor in Terengganu certainly proved this point after a video showing the amount of sugar she used just to prepare a pot of satay sauce went viral on social media.

In the in-text caption, the vendor revealed that the sugar-laden sauce wasn’t the sambal commonly served with nasi lemak, but the peanut sauce that’s often paired with satay.

She also cheekily remarked in the video caption that the sauce was made for an occasion that was scheduled to be held for only two hours.

Hello, diabetes?

The clip has since garnered 1.2 million views at the time of writing and netizens were flabbergasted to see the sheer amount of sugar being used to make the satay sauce.

‘Dumping kilograms of sugar? Is she cooking sambal or candy?’

For the uninitiated, ‘potong kaki’ literally means ‘cut legs’ in Malay, where it’s often used to refer to the amputation of one’s limbs due to diabetes.
