A neatly dressed office worker purchased a blue jelly drink for RM3. Shortly after, two trash collectors bought the same drink but were charged only RM1 each.

Perplexed by the price difference, the trash collectors double-checked with the vendor, who assured them the RM1 price was correct.

Overjoyed, they bought two more drinks and left with smiles on their faces.

Give discount as ‘token of appreciation’

Curious, the woman asked the vendor why the drinks were priced differently. The vendor explained, “The normal price is RM3, but their work is tough, and the weather is so hot. I wanted to give them a small discount as a gesture of appreciation.”

The woman was deeply moved by the vendor’s response. She admired how the vendor not only showed kindness but also preserved the workers’ dignity by subtly offering the discount.

In times like these, when everyone is struggling, helping others within your means is heartwarming. I wish this Kakak a lifetime of peace and happiness,” she wrote.

Wins praises online

“Indeed, I’ve also seen cleaners buying food from Malay stalls, and the owners wouldn’t take their money. Such warm-hearted stall owners.”
