Some people don’t let anything get in the way of learning. They’re determined to seek knowledge no matter what obstacles they face. It doesn’t matter where they are or what’s going on around them – they’re committed to learning and growing.
A powerful story recently made waves on social media, touching the hearts of people everywhere. It all started with a TikTok video from user @ameirfann. In the video, a young girl was shown studying hard under the dim glow of a street lamp.
Traditionally, students seek out comfortable environments like libraries or classrooms to immerse themselves in their studies.
But for this student, comfort wasn’t as important as dedication. She sat on the pavement with just a small table, fully focused on her studies.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, @ameirfann, the TikTok user who shared the video briefly explained to us about what actually happened, “At first, I didn’t even realise what she was doing.
But when I took a closer look, I saw that she was studying with that small table. And the accident happened around 11:30 p.m. or so at UTHM (Universiti Tun Hussein On) Pagoh, Johor.”
‘She doesn’t want to disturb her roommate’
As the video circulated online, the comments section overflowed with admiration and support for the student.
They applauded her determination, shared words of encouragement, and even noted the practicality of her study spot since it didn’t bother her roommates. Some even sent heartfelt prayers her way, acknowledging the hurdles she had to overcome.
“Nice, not bothering roommates who are sleeping. I wish her luck every semester.”
“I hope you succeed. My prayers are with you.”
However, among all the praise, someone wondered about mosquitoes in her study spot. But compared to the admiration for her determination, that concern seemed minor.
“Aren’t there any mosquitoes?”
“Only those who get it understand the struggle of finding motivation to study, even when you’re not feeling it.”
“I tried once at the college. Saw a pontianak ghost, immediately went back to my room.”
