M’sian Transgender Influencers Enter Women’s Toilet, Multiple Police Reports Lodged

He said he only entered after seeing a comment from a fan suggesting he do so.
A video of Malaysian influencers Bryan Wee and Xiao Honey entering a women’s restroom while dressed in female clothing has stirred public outrage and prompted multiple police reports.

In response, Bryan has issued a statement to clarify the situation and apologise for the unintended consequences.

Police report filed by NGO over viral toilet video

Pertubuhan Ikatan Cina Melaka, led by chairman H.M Goh, filed a police report at the Sungai Long police station in Kajang, Selangor, after the video began circulating widely online.

Goh accused Bryan and fellow influencer Xiao Honey of inappropriate behaviour and claimed their actions may have violated several laws, including Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, Section 14 of the Sedition Act, and Section 509 of the Penal Code.

He expressed concern that such acts could lead to discomfort, especially among conservative Muslim women, and potentially spark racial tension.

What if a Muslim woman had been inside adjusting her hijab? Would her family outside stay calm?” he asked in a Facebook post.

Bryan explains and offers apology

Following the backlash, Bryan Wee explained his side of the controversy, stating that the video was filmed at around 6am at an airport when the restroom was empty.

He said he only entered after seeing a comment from a fan suggesting he do so.

I was bored, and I made sure the toilet was completely empty. After filming, I immediately left. I didn’t even use the toilet,” he explained.

Bryan also addressed the strong public reaction towards the clip.

“I didn’t expect such a simple video would bring out so much impact. I apologise for making a bad example,” he said, adding that he usually uses male restrooms.

Accusations of damaging social norms &national image

H.M Goh criticised the influencers for setting a poor example and creating unsafe precedents that could be exploited by those with ill intent.

He also accused them of prioritising viral fame at the expense of social responsibility.

He further condemned their behaviour during a recent trip to China, where they allegedly wore inappropriate outfits and claimed to represent Malaysian culture, warning it could mislead foreigners and damage Malaysia’s image.

Police reports received from multiple states

According to Goh, similar police reports have been lodged in Penang, Selangor, and Melaka, including several filed by Muslim NGOs.

He urged the public to take a firm stand against such behaviour.

At the time of writing, Xiao Honey has yet to issue a public statement and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
