Sometimes, the smallest act of kindness is enough to remind us that humanity is still very much alive.
A Malaysian traffic policeman recently won the hearts of netizens after he was seen helping a motorcyclist and his young son who were stranded by the roadside after their motorcycle reportedly ran out of petrol.
Found father and son stranded
The heartwarming moment was shared by the policeman himself on Threads via the account @bangkeram, where he uploaded a video of the incident.
In the clip, the traffic policeman could be seen coming across a man and his young child, who were stuck along the motorcycle lane after their bike was believed to have run out of fuel.
Instead of simply passing by, the policeman immediately stepped in to help.
Towed them to the petrol station
The officer first helped manage the traffic around them to keep the father and son safe.
He then assisted by towing the motorcycle all the way to a nearby petrol station, allowing the man to refuel and continue his journey.
Good morning, may we all reach our destinations safely,” the policeman wrote briefly in his post.
The video also showed another motorcyclist riding behind them to help ensure the journey was safer.
Paid for the fuel
Once they arrived at the petrol station, the policeman did not stop there. He was also seen paying for the man’s petrol at the counter.
In another touching moment, he appeared to give some money to the man’s young son as a small gesture of care.
The kind act was also recorded by several road users who happened to be on the same route at the time.
One user said she saw the incident while passing through the Sunway Mentari area.
Yesterday, while passing by the Sunway Mentari area, I saw the policeman helping to tow the motorcycle of a man and his cute child.
May Allah reward you with a million blessings in this world and the hereafter, Encik Polis. May you always be under Allah’s protection. Ameen.
I saw the policeman towing them all the way to the BHP petrol station,” she wrote.
Netizens praised his kindness
The video has since gained attention online, with many netizens praising the officer for his compassion and quick action while on duty.
One netizen summed up the emotional reaction nicely, writing:
Men saw this, men cried, men felt happy.”
Another user thanked the officer and said he was touched to see that the policeman did more than just help move the motorcycle.
Thank you, abang polis. At first, I was wondering whether the man actually had money to refuel. Alhamdulillah, the officer didn’t just help push the motorcycle; he also helped pay for the petrol. Thank you, abang traffic police,” the user wrote.
Many others also said the incident showed the human side of those in uniform, and praised the officer for going beyond his duty to help someone in need.
