M’sian Teen Nabbed For Speeding While Dressed In A Dino Costume

Barney the Dinosaur gone rogue.
Speeding on the road or performing life-threatening stunts while driving on the road not only endangers the driver himself, but also other motorists on the road. As such, the authorities often carry out operations to nab those who participate in such activities.

One such motorcyclist has recently tickled the Internet with his unusual ‘drifting gear’ after photos of him donning a dinosaur costume was posted by Kuantan traffic officers.

In one of the photos, the teen’s face was obscured by the hood of the costume while another showed him standing rather awkwardly as several other individuals looked on.

The operation was led by Inspector Faizal Basri along with six highway patrol officers and 16 volunteer reserve police officers (PVR).

A total of 80 motorcycles were inspected and a motorcyclist was apprehended on the suspicion of performing “wheelie” stunts on the road and his motorcycle was confiscated.

“He was taken to the Kuantan Traffic Police Station for investigation under Section 42(1) of the 1987 Road Transport Act for reckless driving,” read the post.

A total of 130 traffic summonses were issued for various traffic violations such as driving without a license and expired road tax.

32 motorcycles were also found to have violated Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for illegal modifications (exhaust pipes, no rearview mirrors, non-compliant number plates).

The police urged parents to be aware of their children’s whereabouts and prevent them from roaming around without their knowledge, especially given that Hari Raya is approaching soon.
