In a recent social media revelation, a Form Two teacher, known as @TheTehOriginal on X, voiced his disappointment as more than half of his students received a score of zero on a recent history exam.

The teacher shared a photo of the graded examination papers, aiming to bring attention to the challenges educators are currently grappling with in schools.
The post carried a thought-provoking message, “What is your ambition right after finishing the SPM examinations? Students: To be influencers. The rest is history.”
90% with blank answer sheets
In a subsequent post, the teacher highlighted that the results were from the Ujian Akhir Sesi Akademik (UASA) history exam, reflecting the performance of the weakest class within the Form Two batch at his school, consisting of 32 students.
A staggering 90% of those with low scores had submitted blank answer sheets, failing to provide any responses to the structured and essay questions.
Articulating the purpose of sharing the disheartening results, the teacher stated, “By sharing this, my aim is to prompt netizens to dispel the misconception that teachers are not actively working to support students facing academic challenges.”

As of the time of writing, the post has amassed over 1.9 million views. The comment section echoed the sentiment of disappointment and concern for the students’ performance.
One comment expressed the fear of raising children in an era where they easily succumb to various influences, stating, “Honestly, it’s so scary. Raising (kids) in this era where they get easily influenced by anything.”
Another comment pondered on the possible reactions of the students’ parents, saying, “I wonder what are their parents’ reactions looking at these students’ results. This is bad. It terrifies me to think about the future of our country.”
