M’sian Taekwando Coach Faces 100 Years In Jail For Allegedly Molesting 5 Underaged Girls 

The suspect used adjusting belts in restrooms as an excuse for crimes.

Ahmad Munir Zainuddin, a 20-year-old taekwando coach and student of a private college, is now at the centre of a disturbing case, charged with five counts of physically sexually assaulting girls aged 7 to 11 between September and October last year.

The charges include allegations of touching the victims’ thighs, buttocks, and genitalia, as well as compelling the victims to touch his genitalia.

The acts took place in a hall in Section 24, raising serious concerns about the safety of children participating in martial arts activities.

Ahmad Munir pleaded not guilty to all charges when they were presented before Judge Rasyihah Ghazali at the Sessions Court.

The charges fall under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017, carrying a penalty of up to 20 years imprisonment and whipping for each charge if found guilty.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Nabilah Abd. Rashid represented the prosecution, while the accused was defended by attorney Adil Safwan Ahmad Shaffie.

Bail conditions set: RM30,000 bail & stringent restrictions imposed

The court set a bail of RM30,000 and imposed additional conditions, including surrendering his passport, reporting to the nearest police station on the 1st day of each month, and prohibiting contact with the victims.

The next hearing is scheduled for December 14, and the accused remains in custody, having arrived at the Shah Alam Court complex under strict security provided by the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Division.

Apprehended after supermarket incident

According to Kosmo, the arrest took place on November 2 at a local supermarket following five reports related to the molestation of girls aged 7 to 11.

Investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly used fixing the victims’ belts in the restroom as an excuse for committing the crimes.

Disturbingly, the victims’ mothers reported the profound impact on their daughters, with one mother, identified as Ani, stating that her child has become disturbed and agitated, even during prayer.

The trauma has reached a point where the victim refuses to be alone and is in constant fear.
