Welcome back to another episode of bizarre culinary surprises. Today’s special ingredient? None other than our little greeny friend, THE FROG!
In a recent viral post, an OP stumbled upon an unexpected addition to their lemang — a dead frog. What’s more, they had already consumed almost the entire stick before noticing the deceased frog. OMG!

Shared by a Facebook group, the short video shows a dead frog seemingly clutching the glutinous rice sticking to pandan leaves.
“I always heard people telling stories about eating frog lemang, but in the end, I also got caught,” the post stated, mentioning that they only realised after eating almost the whole stick, they found a frog at the end.
Further explaining, the OP mentioned that he had purchased two sticks of lemang just before returning to Kuala Lumpur.

“Every year I buy from there without any issues, it’s always delicious. But this year wasn’t lucky,” he said, advising to be careful when buying lemang.
Netizens were left stunned
This reshared video has received over 419k views, with more than 1.2k comments from netizens.
One netizen curiously asked how the frog entered inside the food.
“How did the frog get into the lemang?”

Another netizen commented, saying that the frog could have accidentally jumped into the bamboo stick.
“This must be a frog jumping into the bamboo. Because if these traders had placed plenty of banana leaves, they would have noticed the frog jumping in before wrapping the glutinous rice. They wouldn’t have realized it. Just guessing.”

On the other hand, one netizen mentioned that maybe the person didn’t clean or wash the bamboo properly.
“Maybe the frog had already entered before the rice was put in. The person who made it didn’t clean the bamboo again before adding the rice. If it were me, I would definitely not eat it anymore. It would become a trauma and make me feel disgusted.”
