Student representative of a faculty or department at a university is a vital role to possess as the goal is to change the university for the better.Â
At the same time, those who hold these roles are tasked with acting as the ‘bridge’ between students and the management in solving various problems, including body odour.
M’sian student rep candidate gives out deodorant
In a post shared on X by @datukhensem, it showed a student representative candidate from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), who was looking to be elected into the role.
Interestingly, her manifesto including a pledge that many would find unusual: that is to give out deodorant to those who struggle with body odour.
Aside from giving out deodorant, the candidate also promised to strengthen the current Mentor-Mentee system.
‘Bye bye body odour’
The tweet swiftly amassed over 1,000,000 views and 6,000 likes, where netizens were tickled to see such an odd pledge on the candidate’s manifesto.
‘Her intrusive thought: I’m gonna put an end to all mustiness under my reign.’

‘It’s funny until she gives you deodorant.’
