A university student was left severely injured during an attempt to retrieve his house keys by climbing into his apartment in Sungai Chuchuh, Perlis yesterday (May 1).
NST reported that the victim was 24-year-old Ubaidul Aqied Bustamam who hailed from Kulim, Kedah.

Fell six floors while trying to retrieve house keys
According to Padang Besar district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Shokri Abdullah, he said police were made aware of the incident at around 3pm.
He added that preliminary investigations suggested that the victim tried to climb into his apartment unit to get a set of house keys which he had left inside and lost his footing, causing him to fall six floors down.
He added that witnesses heard a loud thud and found the victim in a pool of blood at the ground floor.

In stable condition after fall
Mohd Shokri said the victim was in a state of consciousness following the fall but was unable to move due to severe injuries inflicted on his body. He was then taken to the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital in Kangar for treatment.
He is in stable condition and we have also recorded statements from several witnesses to aid investigations.
“We also urge the public not to make speculations on the case in order to pay respect to the victim’s family,” he said.
