Whenever we buy food from stalls or cafeterias, we would expect that basic hygiene is being observed at all times. Unfortunately, there have been instances where people were left sickened due to poor food handling.
A student from a local university was left repulsed after she discovered that the dish she had bought was infested with maggots.
M’sian student disgusted by maggots found inside dish
In a short 8-second clip shared on TikTok by the student named Melur, it showed a packet of what seemed to be a type of curry.
Upon a closer look however, the dish turned out to be way less appetising than expected as not one, but tens of maggots were seen wiggling freely inside the dish. Yuck!

As if to sarcastically commend the stall for doing a great job in maintaining basic food hygiene, the OP chose a snippet of two women talking to each other as the background sound.
In the conversation, one woman is heard telling the other, ‘Look at this.’, eliciting a gasp and a ‘Perfect! Oh, my God!’ from the latter, before the first woman ends the conversation with ‘Isn’t it great?’ (Spoiler alert: it sure wasn’t.)
According to the caption, the dish was bought from a stall located with UiTM’s campus in Dungun, Terrenganu.
Netizens: ‘Not surprised’
In the comment section, netizens were understandably disgusted by the amount of maggots inside the dish and expressed their thoughts over it.
‘I swear I now have trust issues.’

‘Extra protein.’

Others pointed out that the stall long had problems with maintaining the level of hygiene when it comes to handling food.

Meanwhile, a netizen wrote that UiTM was made aware of the matter and that an investigation by the District Health Office (PKD) has been launched after a report was made.
