M’sian Stuck For Almost 1.5 Hours At UPM MRT After Power Outage Shuts Down 6 Putrajaya Line Stations

Bro started queuing at 7.15pm… still queuing at 8.40pm 😭
Commuters on the MRT Putrajaya Line had a rough today (Sept 23) after a power outage forced six stations to shut down for repair works.

The affected stations include Taman Equine, Putra Permai, 16 Sierra, Cyberjaya Utara, Cyberjaya City Centre, and Putrajaya Sentral.

According to statement shared by Rapid KL on X, the outage at 5.54 am disrupted lights, lifts, escalators, entry gates, and even toilets at the stations.

Bus service provided, but queues were no joke

While the train service terminated at MRT UPM station, free shuttle buses were arranged to ferry passengers between UPM and Putrajaya Sentral every 15 to 20 minutes.

But things were far from smooth.

Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, one commuter said he had been queuing for nearly 1.5 hours from the concourse level down to the bus stop at ground level.

He shared that he started queuing at 7.15pm and was still in line at 8.40pm.

A video he shared showed a long snake-like queue stretching all the way from the MRT station to the roadside bus stop.

When asked for comments, the commuter simply said, “No comment, cos things happen.”

Advice for KLIA-bound passengers

Rapid KL has advised those heading to KLIA and KLIA2 via Putrajaya Sentral to plan ahead and consider alternative transport to avoid delays.

For help, passengers can approach station staff or auxiliary police on duty.
