In a bizarre incident that left teachers baffled, a Form Five student preparing for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exams was caught sleeping in the school toilet.
According to a teacher from the school, this wasn’t the first time the student had been found napping in such an unusual location.
According to Mstar, the teacher who shared the story on social media revealed that the school had to take extraordinary measures to confirm the student’s whereabouts.
“This morning, we had to ask another student to climb up and check if someone was sleeping in the toilet. Turns out it was true,” the teacher wrote.
The teacher added that while the boys’ toilet was clearly clean enough to rest in, the real issue stemmed from the student’s extreme exhaustion.
A Habit of Late-Night Gaming
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the student often stayed up late into the night playing games on his phone.
This habit not only disrupted his sleep schedule but also left him too tired to stay awake during school hours.
“The student has a habit of staying up late at night playing games on his phone. Even his parents can’t do anything about it anymore,” the teacher explained.
Parents of the teenager reportedly feel helpless as their attempts to curb his excessive gadget use have been unsuccessful.
While the teacher did not specify if the incident occurred during the actual SPM examination period or beforehand, the story serves as a wake-up call for students and parents alike to prioritise rest and time management, especially during critical academic periods.
