SINGAPORE – The world is now easing into a new way of living due to the pandemic. For some, it may just be a minor inconvenience, but for others, it might mean being separated from their family for extended periods of time.
Today (May 16), netizen Chung Siang H shared a touching account of how he spent his 424th day in Singapore, which, coincidently, was also his birthday.
In his post, Chung shared how he had to rush back to Singapore last year before the first national lockdown and only brought a few shirts along as he assumed it wouldn’t be long before he headed back home.
“However, the lockdown went from two weeks to months, and later a year.”
While most would be bitterly disappointment over not being able to celebrate their birthday with family members, Chung’s ‘foster family’ went the extra mile by preparing a delicious home-cooked meal to celebrate. How thoughtful!
“While I’m missing home deeply, I consider myself to be very lucky to meet this kind and generous family, who prepared a meal for me every day after work!”
The post has garnered 4.8k likes and 262 comments within hours, with netizens commending the family for their generosity and how fortunate Chung was to cross paths with them.
