School is a place where core memories are created for everyone, be it students, teachers, cleaners, or even security guards.
Recently, a heartwarming event at Sekolah Kebangsaan Convent 2 Bukit Nanas (M) left everyone teary-eyed and smiling as they bid farewell to their beloved general assistant, Uncle Mano, with a grand and touching celebration.

Shared by a TikTok user, @mimiemicha13, who is believed to be one of the teachers, the video of the farewell has gone viral.
Uncle Mano, known formally as R. Manohar, but affectionately called Uncle Mano by everyone at the school, received an unforgettable send-off that showed just how much he meant to the school community.
The celebration began with a cake adorned with Uncle Mano’s face and colourful banners that set the festive mood.
The students, in a joyful procession, escorted Uncle Mano to the hall, treating him like a VIP—no, a groom on his wedding day!

As Uncle Mano made his way to the stage, the teachers placed a flower garland around his neck, a traditional gesture of respect and honor.
Seated comfortably on a couch on the stage, Uncle Mano beamed with joy as one by one, teachers and students presented him with thoughtful gifts—watches, chocolates, flowers, and more.
The celebration didn’t stop there.
Uncle Mano was taken on a ceremonial ride around the school on a motorcycle, greeted with cheers and waves from students and staff.

It was a fitting tribute to a man who had been a cornerstone of their daily lives.
In a touching moment, the school also celebrated Uncle Mano’s birthday.
His best friend, Uncle Selvam, who has been by his side through thick and thin, fed him a piece of birthday cake, marking their last sweet moment together at the school.

“Happy birthday to you, Uncle Mano. Uncle Selvam, his BFF (best friend forever), fed him the cake for the last time. After this, Uncle Selvam won’t have a friend to joke with.” the teacher wrote in the video.
“Thank you, Uncle, for helping us so much all this time. We will never forget your kindness,”
The farewell party for Uncle Mano reminded us that schools are more than just places to learn. They are communities where everyone, no matter their role, is valued and cherished.
