Betrayal is never a pleasant thing to experience, but to suffer betrayal at the hands of those you thought you could entrust your deepest and most personal details to is undeniably the worst kind.
A woman shared how she was left emotionally scarred for life after she foolishly gave her work identification (ID) details to her former manager, who then used it to carry out illegal activities.
Gave work ID to ex-manager, who used it for embezzlement
Sharing her story on Threads, the woman said the incident occurred back in 2022 — one that would forever be seared into her mind for all the wrong reasons.
According to her, her ex-manager had committed embezzlement by siphoning RM500,000 from the company and revealed how he used her work ID to carry out the act.
How did he get my ID? Because I was stupid enough to trust him and shared my work system password with him.
“I shared my personal login details to make work easier for the team and never imagined that my superior would misuse the data for criminal purposes.
“He was my manager, so I thought there wouldn’t be a problem. I just wanted to make everyone’s work smoother,” she lamented as reported by mStar.
Even after three years since the unfortunate incident, the woman admitted that she still hasn’t forgiven her ex-manager for his dishonesty, going as far as wishing that he would face endless financial hardships in the future.
However, she did not reveal what repercussions her ex-manager faced for his unlawful act.
In the comment section, netizens sympathised with the woman and gave her words of comfort.
Some told her to move on from the incident, while others assured her that her ex-manager will soon have to face the consequences of his actions.
They also advised her to not be too trusting of her work colleagues nor share any personal details with them as it may be used against her.
