A check of the menu confirmed that the listed price for sardine fried rice is RM9, with an additional RM0.30 packaging charge clearly stated for customers opting for takeaway.

For dine-in orders, the only extra cost applied is a 6% SST charge, with no hidden fees.

A notice under Section 21 of the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011 was issued to the restaurant, requiring them to justify the price differences seen on the receipts.

In response, the restaurant received a stern warning to keep their price displays up-to-date to avoid customer confusion. They were also reminded to comply with all KPDN regulations to prevent future incidents.

The restaurant has since apologized for the issue and expressed readiness to reach out to the customer who raised the complaint to offer further clarification or resolve any outstanding concerns.
