In the caption, the OP wrote that the restaurant was located at Uptown Damansara, adding that he was a tad annoyed by the fact that he had to clear other people’s mess in order to have a “waste free” table.

“In most fast food chains here at Bolehland (Malaysia), after finishing your dine-in meal, you take all your rubbish to the tray and dump it in the prepared waste bin.

“I realised lots of people don’t know this and just leave their waste on the table. Thoughts, brothers and sisters?” he asked.

Split opinions among netizens

The post inevitably led to a heated debate among netizens in the comment section over who should bear the responsibility of cleaning the table.

There were a handful of netizens who believed that it was the restaurant staff’s job to do so as they were paid to do so.

One suggested that large corporations should just hire more workers to clean the tables, adding that kopitiams don’t require customers to clear their own mess.

On the other hand, some opined that it doesn’t hurt to spare a thought for the restaurant workers by stacking up the trays neatly instead of leaving a huge mess behind.
