If you have gone through driving lessons in the past, the most intimidating part would be the training process as some are unlucky to have impatient or easily angered instructors.
A netizen recently took to social media to share how an instructor verbally abused him and even became violent, causing him to “boycott” the lesson altogether in a dramatic fashion.
Abusive & violent experience
According to mStar, the netizen said his instructor was a hot-tempered man who liked to yell at him whenever he made mistakes.
“The only thing he’d do whenever I did something wrong was to snort away like a dragon or yell, ‘How can you not know this?’ Little to no guidance was given at all.”
He also alleged that during one of the lessons, the instructor became so angry that he punched the car’s dashboard.
“I couldn’t take it anymore, so I pulled the handbrake, got out of the car and left him alone in the middle of the road while the cars behind us honked away.
“I signed up to learn, and your job is to teach. But you’re acting like you’re the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and judging people instead,” he wrote.
Asked for a refund
Following the disastrous lesson, the netizen lodged a complaint at the counter and requested a refund as he wanted to switch to another driving school.
In the end, the instructor apologised to him and offered to give three free lessons.
The netizen added that while he has no issues with instructors correcting or reprimanding him, he felt shouting, using harsh language and punching the dashboard were excessive.
His experience resonated with many, who also shared their own unpleasant encounters with driving instructors.
One said she was sexually harassed by the instructor and reported him to the counter. When she returned the following week, she discovered he had been fired.
Another said his instructor told him to stop at a pisang goreng stall and even asked him to foot the bill.
