Police officers are tasked with upholding the law and punishing those who break it, but there are some officers who choose the crooked way and bend the law for their personal gain.
A viral clip has recently circulated online which showed a police officer allegedly soliciting a bribe from a driver during checks in Seri Kembangan.

In the more than 1-minute clip shared by Berita Viral Trending on Facebook, it showed several vehicles being stopped by officers from the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) near The Mines shopping mall in Seri Kembangan.
One of the vehicles was a luxury car, where the driver was approached by a police officer.
As the camera zoomed in on the officer, it showed him having a conversation with the driver, with the latter grabbing something from the front passenger’s seat and giving it to the officer.
Upon receiving the item, the officer is seen stuffing it into his pocket. However, it’s not known what the item was.
After sending the driver on his way, the officer then walks along the road and joins another officer while acting nothing had happened moments earlier.
Police investigating
Not long after the clip went viral, it eventually caught the attention of the police, who have since launched an internal probe into the incident.
Serdang district police chief AA Anbalagan said this was to determine whether any misconduct or breach of procedures had been committed.
We will not compromise (with the officer involved) if it is proven that misconduct had been committed. The case is still being investigated,” he said.
He also called upon the public not to speculate on the case as it might disrupt ongoing investigations.
