It was a regular school day for a primary school girl in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, until she missed her bus and had to walk alone towards her school located 1.5 km away.
However, her journey was interrupted by a pleasant surprise — two policemen, Mohd Rohaizam bin Mohd Zin and Abang Azrul Izwan bin Abang Aduka, part of the URB Zon 1 team of the Seri Alam Police Department, noticed her.
These officers, along with their colleague Hasbullah bin Abd Mana, were conducting a crime prevention patrol in the Taman Johor Jaya area.
Arrange transportation and send her to school
Upon seeing the girl walking alone in her school uniform, they promptly took action. Instead of leaving her to walk the rest of the way, they, with the help of a local resident, arranged for transportation and personally escorted her to school.
The story, shared by the Seri Alam Police Department on their Facebook page, mentioned how the officers didn’t stop at just getting the student to school.
They made sure to deliver her safely into the care of her class teacher, asking the teacher to notify the girl’s guardian of the incident.
In their post, the police force also took the opportunity to advise parents and guardians to always remain vigilant for their children’s safety.
They stressed that children should not walk alone on the roads without adult supervision to avoid potential accidents.
The policemen’s thoughtful gesture and commitment to their duty have since been widely praised online.
