With the unpredictable weather taking place all across the country, there’s no telling when disaster might strike and sometimes lead to tragic incidents.
A police officer tragically lost his life after a massive tree fell right on top the vehicle he was driving, causing him to be crushed by its sheer weight and force.
M’sian police officer crushed to death by falling tree
As reported by Sinar Harian, the victim was a 44-year-old corporal who was driving a police vehicle on Jalan Felda Sahabat 16 in Lahad Datu, Sabah, last Friday (June 21) at around 2.30pm.

According to Lahad Datu district police chief Assistant Commissioner Dzulbaharin Ismail, he said a tree from the right side suddenly fell and crushed the van driven by the victim.
The incident was also witnessed by another police officer who was riding a motorcycle from the opposite direction, and it was later confirmed that the victim had died at the scene.
“The case is still under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and the victim’s blood sample was sent to the Kota Kinabalu Chemistry Department for further testing,” he said in a statement.

Dzulbaharin urged those who have further information on the incident to come forward and contact Investigating Officer Inspector Humaidi Harun at 089-881255 or the Lahad Datu District Police Headquarters (IPD).
