Just recently, the innocent 6yo, namely Zayn Rayyan, was found to be murdered after the post mortem report indicated injuries to the neck and body of the victim.
The police was able to record the boy’s cause of death as strangulation and believed to be killed 48 hours before the body was found.
The case took a redirection and further investigation is ongoing to uncover the perpetrator.
The police checked CCTV footage for any traces of the boy or the perpetrator, sent the fingerprint found on the body to labs and also took DNA samples of residents of the Idaman Apartments.
Police suspects only one individual was involved
In a recent development, the police suspect that possibly only one individual was involved in the murder case of the autistic child, Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, at Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya, last week.
According to Sinar Harian, Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated that this is based on clues, signs of strangulation, and struggle found on the body of the six-year-old victim.
We (the police) have tracked down one individual and believe (this case involves) one individual.
He also mentioned that the police have explored all angles, police databases, conducted extensive screenings, and hope to gather positive leads that will help them apprehend the perpetrator.
He also requested the public to give space to the police to focus on executing their duties based on the case facts rather than involving any speculation.
Monitoring car dash cams
So far, the police are examining the front-facing camera video (dash cam) recordings obtained from several vehicle owners who are residents of Idaman Apartment to aid in the investigation.
When asked about the investigation that took place in a nearby store, approximately 50 metres from Block R of the Idaman Apartments, Datuk Hussein mentioned that the police aim to investigate individuals who frequently roam in that area to explore the possibility of the perpetrator having been there.
He also added that they’re searching and matching fingerprints, but the investigation remains open and they are looking at it from all angles, whether within or outside the area, not wanting to miss any possibilities.
