Yesterday, social media was abuzz when news surfaced that a popular clothing brand in Malaysia is offering a basic salary of RM3,000 for retail associates.
But in a surprising twist, a humble โPisang Gorengโ vendor has become the latest talk of the town by offering his workers a RM2,000 basic salary โ something quite unexpected from a roadside stall.
A Generous Basic Salary for Hard Work
In a recent viral TikTok video shared by @destinasitv, a banana fritter stall owner who runs a small business along the streets of Shah Alam shared that he provides his employees with a basic salary of RM2,000.

He believes that his workers deserve fair pay for their hard work.
According to him, frying up those golden banana fritters and serving countless customers each day isnโt easy, and he wants to show his appreciation with a fair wage.
Itโs an impressive move, especially for a street vendor, and itโs caught the attention of many online who are praising the owner for his generosity.
End-of-Year Bonuses Included!

On top of this solid basic pay, the owner has even promised annual bonuses for his workers.
He shared in the video that heโs committed to giving each worker an additional RM2,000 as a year-end bonus.
He explained that this is a way to thank them for their dedication and effort throughout the year.
โI give my workers a basic RM2,000 salary. At the end of the year, they have a bonus, and this year each person gets RM2,000,โ he shared proudly.
Sharing His Secret Recipe
Interestingly, while this vendor has no plans to expand his own business under his name, he is more than happy to let others share in his success.
โI donโt have plans to open other banana fritter stalls under my name,โ he shared, โbut I do have an idea โ anyone who wants to use my banana fritter flour mix, feel free to open up stalls wherever you like.โ
Although his capacity is limited in KL, heโs willing to supply his signature flour mix to those in the area, allowing others to start their own ventures.
โI donโt mind. Blessings come from God, and Iโm grateful for them,โ he added.
Family Values in the Heart of Business
What makes this story even more heartwarming is that the vendorโs employees are actually his own family.
His children have been there from the start, helping their parents with the business every step of the way.
He sees this family venture as something his children might one day take over, and by rewarding their hard work now, he hopes to prepare them for that future.
