A Malaysian passenger flying from Chiang Mai to Kuala Lumpur on Malaysia Airlines recently had a journey he will never forget, because he was literally fed six full meals on a single three-hour flight.
The story was shared via a Facebook page where the passenger revealed that he boarded the MH Boeing 737-800 expecting a normal business class trip, only to be met with what he described as “Malaysian hospitality at its peak.”
It all started with just one meal
The passenger said the flight took off around 12.30 p.m., and since he had eaten breakfast at his hotel, he only planned to try one meal onboard.
He started with Malaysia Airlines’ signature butterfly pea rice with curry chicken and found it delicious.
After that, I heard the crew going row by row asking passengers if they wanted more food, but most people declined,” he wrote.
“I said I’d just try a bit…”
When it was his turn, the passenger jokingly said he wouldn’t mind trying a little more.
To his surprise, the male flight attendant then brought out one dish after another — nyonya assam fish, sambal prawn nasi lemak, chicken wantan noodles, an Indian vegetarian set, and even Dutch-style baked eggs.
These weren’t even on the menu for this flight,” he explained. “They were from the earlier Kuala Lumpur–Chiang Mai leg. I had ordered ‘Chef on Call’ on the first leg, so on the way back, I basically got to try everything.”
Cakes, teas, and… a bag of bread?!
Besides the main courses, the crew also served him two cakes, honey lemon tea, and even half a cup of teh tarik.
The passenger added that Malaysia Airlines’ bread smelled amazing, so he casually asked if he could take some home.
Next thing I knew, he gave me a full bag of ten hot buns!” he said, calling it the most memorable flight meal experience of his life.
