M’sian Neighbors Get Into Screaming Match Over Noise Caused By Midnight Prayer Bells

The case is now under police investigation.
In a diverse nation like Malaysia, respecting each other’s beliefs is crucial. But at the same time, being considerate and thoughtful is equally important as well.

A recent incident unfolded in an apartment complex in Taman Universiti, Skudai in Johor when a verbal dispute erupted over a late-night prayer conducted by a Hindu family.

He also could be heard yelling, “I can’t sleep! Please try to understand!” at the woman who seemed to ignore him and calmly continued with her prayers.

Even as the man continued to yell incessantly, the woman kept her cool and said, “You’re the one shouting, not us.”

Things escalated further when the man threatened to call the police but another man, believed to be the woman’s son, then appeared at the scene.

After exchanging heated words with each other at the top of their lungs, the man eventually went back to his own unit as the woman’s son gave him a death stare and asked him who was the one making noise.

Both parties are being investigated

The case is now being investigated under Section 13 (1) of the Minor Offenses Act 1955, which pertains to making excessive noise between midnight and 6am.
