A special needs child in Pahang is in urgent need of milk formula, diapers and wet wipes after he was allegedly abandoned by his mother.
The case was shared by Uncle Kentang via his Facebook page, where he appealed for the public and relevant authorities to step in and help the child.
According to the post, the child is currently under the care of his guardian, who has already submitted an application for assistance from the Social Welfare Department, also known as JKM.
However, the family was allegedly told to wait, and has yet to receive any aid so far.

Mother allegedly left home
Uncle Kentang said the child’s mother had allegedly left home and abandoned him.
Meanwhile, the child’s father reportedly earns only RM2,000 a month.
He suggested that the father’s income might be one of the reasons why the application was not approved.
However, he also questioned whether a household income of RM2,000 should still be considered too high for welfare assistance, especially given the child’s condition and daily needs.
“If a whole family earning RM2,000 a month is not considered poor, then this is something worth looking into,” he wrote.
Child needs RM250 monthly assistance
According to the guardian, they are currently applying for RM250 a month to help cover the child’s basic needs.
This includes milk formula and fish porridge, as the child is reportedly unable to eat other types of food.
On top of that, the child also needs diapers and wet wipes on a regular basis.
Uncle Kentang said he has advised the guardian to first find out the actual reason why the welfare application was rejected or delayed.
At the same time, he urged the local state assemblyperson or any elected representative to visit the family, understand the situation, and assist where possible.
Appeal for JKM to reassess the case
While Uncle Kentang noted that JKM has always been helpful towards those in need, he hoped that the department would take another look at this case.
He also said welfare criteria may need to be reviewed if families with limited income and special needs dependents are still struggling to qualify for assistance.
The child is currently staying at:
NO 216, LORONG 4, KAMPUNG BARU KARAK, 28600 BENTONG, PAHANG
Uncle Kentang hoped that his post would catch the attention of both JKM and local elected representatives, so they can visit the family and reassess whether the child is eligible for monthly aid.
Those who wish to help with the child’s expenses may contact Uncle Kentang at 018 268 3999.
Let us come together to help this poor child,” he wrote.
