Asian moms are next-level cool—from expert cash-saving moves to bringing homemade vibes to fancy restaurants.
Recently, a TikTok user, Farhan, posted a video of his mother bringing a big bottle of homemade drink, Teh ‘O’, to a Western steak restaurant because the price of the beverages are expensive.
“Have you ever experienced something like this?”
Sharing the fun clip on his TikTok account, @paanzery posted a video showing his mother pouring the homemade Teh ‘O’ drink that she brought from home.
In the 12-second video, Farhan explains that his mother brings the big bottle of drink to the steak restaurant because the price of the beverages there is expensive.
The mother was seen casually taking out a large bottle of pre-made Teh ‘O’ and pours the drink into an empty cup provided by the restaurant.
To top it off, they even have a fancy touch—a slice of lemon on the cup.
In a conversation with WeirdKaya, Farhan revealed that he had no clue his mom brought a big bottle of Teh ‘O’ to the restaurant, as she placed it in a paper bag.
“We were in the midst of a birthday celebration, and I thought it was a gift,” he said.
When asked about the restaurant staff’s reaction to his mom bringing her own drink, Farhan shared, “They were all okay with it and even offered an extra cup,” while praising the staff’s generosity.
To wrap this up, in his words, he said, “Mom’s attitude, bro. She’s all about saving, even when the siblings are like, just order what you want.”
Absolutely, we’re all on the same page—this is the classic mom move, no doubt.
The drink prices will leave you in awe
You might be wondering just how steep the drink prices were at that restaurant that makes Farhan’s mom to bring her own homemade drink.
Curiously asking Farhan about the drink’s price, he spilled the beans that a bottle of grape juice at that restaurant was tagged at a whopping RM118, and an ice lemon tea was just around RM10.
Farhan’s mom’s sweet gesture might be small, but it adds that special touch that turns a regular meal into a memorable dining experience.
This clip has since garnered over 1.6 million views, with comments from netizens finding it entertaining and relatable.
