A medical assistant officer and four nurses have been arrested in Sabah for allegedly submitting false overtime (OT) claims amounting to RM146,000.
The suspects, who are employed at a local health centre, were detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday (September 10) at around 9.40 am.

Arrest at the MACC Office
Buletin TV3 reported the four women and one man, all in their 30s, were apprehended while giving statements at the MACC office in Sabah.
The individuals involved are suspected of submitting fraudulent claims for overtime work that was never performed, dating back to 2020 and 2021.
Investigation Underway
Initial investigations suggest that the claims were falsified over a period of two years, despite the overtime work not being carried out.
The Sabah MACC Director, Datuk S Karunanithy, confirmed the arrests and said the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009, which pertains to offences of submitting false documents for fraudulent purposes.
Suspects Released on Bail
Following their arrests, all suspects have been released on MACC bail.
However, their legal troubles are far from over, as they are scheduled to be charged this Thursday at the Kota Kinabalu Sessions Court.
