A horrifying discovery was made in Kampung Sungai Batang Baru, Batu 10, after the mutilated body of a man was found floating in the river.
Authorities believe he was attacked and devoured by a crocodile.
Victim’s body found 400 metres from where he went missing
According to Kosmo!, the victim, identified as Ramli Mohd Isa, 50, was discovered at 8:44 AM yesterday by members of the public who were assisting in the search and rescue (SAR) operation.

According to Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Senior Fire Superintendent Severinus@Mohd Nidzam Sainkui, the victim’s body was found approximately 400 metres away from where he was last seen.
“The entire operation was concluded at 9.34am,” he said in an official statement.
Pulled into the river while fishing
It is believed that Ramli had been scattering fertiliser into the river as part of his fish netting routine when the reptile suddenly attacked him.
Tragically, he never resurfaced, prompting a search effort.
