More than a week ago, we reported of a man who was caught on film smacking the head of a female driver whom he felt was driving erratically.
In the clip, he was seen yelling threats and obscenities at the woman before landing a hard smack on her head, causing her to be shocked and dazed.
The woman later lodged a police report over the incident, which eventually landed the man in jail for seven days after he pleaded guilty to voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation, reported NST.
Jailed again for slapping 2 restaurant staff
Unfortunately, it seemed that prison still wasn’t done with 29-year-old Mohamad Zaim Faiz Tarmizi, who found himself thrown to jail again after he was released for the previous offense.
According to Astro Awani, Mohamad Zaim pleaded guilty to slapping two workers named Samir Das and V Dennis Pillai at a steamboat restaurant in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands on June 4.
The charge was framed under Section 323 of the Penal Code, where it carries a jail term of up to two years, a RM2,000 fine, or both if convicted.
When deputy public prosecutor S. Punitha pushed for a heavier sentence, Mohamad Zaim began crying in court and pleaded for leniency, saying that he needed to support his wife, who is expected to deliver her second child at the end of the month.
He told the court that he earned only RM1,500 a month and had to pay his mother’s medication costs. Zaim also expressed regret for his actions and promised not to do it again.
Magistrate Qasiratuljannah Usmani Othman then handed him a nine-day jail sentence and a RM2,000 fine, which was paid by his wife.
We hope Zaim truly learns his lesson and will keep his anger in check next time!
