Windscreen wipers are an extremely important part of a car as it helps to wipe moisture and dirt away so that drivers can see what’s ahead of them.
A local man recently amused netizens with his ingenious method of making the car windscreen wipers to work after it broke down, which was made possible with the help of a string.
M’sian man uses string to ‘move’ windscreen wipers
In a TikTok video shared by Harith (@harithidham6), it showed him sitting on the passenger’s side of a car that was driving down a road and his left hand wrapped in an orange plastic bag.
In the same hand, he was seen holding onto a string which was tied to the left wiper through the slightly opened window.
As for the right wiper, it was tied to a separate string held by Harith’s friend, who was also driving the car.
In order to move the windscreen wipers, both Harith and his friend had to tug the string in perfect tandem so that the rain could be wiped away.
In the caption, Harith jokingly thanked TikTok for giving him such a creative idea to put to use in times of emergency.
Netizens amused by OP’s creativity
The clip has since garnered over 450,000 views and hundreds of comments from netizens who couldn’t stop laughing as well as be impressed by Harith’s creativity.
Some joked that the incident taught Harith and his friend a good lesson in working together as well as truly defining what a ‘manually-operated car’ was.
A netizen even admitted that she thought Harith and his friend were flying a kite straight from the moving car (which thankfully wasn’t the case).
