[UPDATED] M’sian Man Suffers Cut To Head After Bumping Into Signboard In Kepong

Oof.
We have often been told to look out ahead whenever we’re walking lest we bump into hard surfaces or sharp edges that can lead to injuries.

A man had his head slightly split open after he walked right into a signboard, where its edge caused a cut and resulted in it bleeding.

According to him, the signboard’s edge was the culprit behind his injury, which caused a deep gash to appear at the upper right corner of his head.

According to the doctor, he wasn’t the only one to suffer an injury due to the signboard. The only saving grace he had for his case was that his wound didn’t need to be stitched up.

He also asked for the public’s help in contacting the relevant authorities to shift the signboard slightly higher so that no one else would get hurt.

Netizens’ reaction

In the comment section, netizens were shocked to see the man’s injury caused by the signboard and left their thoughts on the incident.

One recounted how her brother’s friend nearly injured his eye due to a billboard and questioned the rationale behind placing the signboard this low.

Another netizen expressed relief at the man not suffering a severe injury and joked that the scar will make him look more manly.

Meanwhile, a netizen wondered why public signboards were placed at a height which might injure someone and pointed to another signboard as an example, noting that its edge was dented presumably due to people walking straight into it.

China Press later contacted Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng regarding the issue and were told that the signboard has since been removed.
