Normally when someone’s about to commit a crime but discovers they’re on camera, they would reconsider and abandon the plan altogether.
Bizarrely enough, this wasn’t what one man did despite knowing he was in full view of a CCTV, where he was seen boldly breaking into a house and ran away with a handbag.
M’sian man spots himself on CCTV, still steals handbag from house
In a series of videos shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @mynewshub, it showed a man dressed in a black hoodie and jeans arriving at a house in KL.

After getting off his motorcycle, the man is seen spending the minute loitering outside the house, as if to make sure there was no one around to witness what he was about to do.
At one point of the clip, he looks up and noticed the CCTV staring right back at him and capturing his face in full.

But instead of backing off, he brazenly unlocked the front gate of the house and entered as though he was a welcome guest.
In another clip, the man is seen fleeing the scene while clutching on to what appeared to be a handbag.

Loss of RM5,500 reported
A report by Utusan TV later revealed that a 49-year-old woman, who worked as a sales assistant, found that a handbag had disappeared from the living room in Taman Melati last Friday (Aug 23).
As a result, she suffered a loss of RM5,500.
Wangsa Maju district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Lazim Ismail said police are now probing the case under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft.
Meanwhile, netizens expressed their shock in seeing how bold the man was in carrying out the crime despite knowing he was being filmed.
‘So brazen. There’s a CCTV but he’s still so brave in stealing. Truly brazen.’

‘He knows there’s a CCTV but still chooses to act stupidly.’

Some also called for the police to quickly nab the man as his face was caught clearly for all to see.
