A man in Kapar, Selangor, has sparked widespread discussion online after claiming the RON95 petrol he purchased at a local station appeared unusually pale, almost transparent, raising doubts about its quality.
The incident was shared on TikTok, who said he grew suspicious after noticing that the fuel looked “too thin” and “strangely clear” while filling up at the station.
“It looks like lime water,” he said
To double check, he poured a small amount into a transparent drink bottle to observe it more closely.
He said the petrol looked almost colourless with only a faint yellow tint, prompting him to wonder if the fuel had been “mixed with water” or did not meet the usual RON95 standard.

It is too watery, like lime water. I asked the staff and they said it was normal, but I really feel it is different from what I usually pump. Something feels off,” he said in his post.
Station employees, however, insisted that the fuel sold was standard RON95, similar to every other station nationwide, and denied any quality issues.
Video goes viral, sparks mixed reactions
The video quickly drew thousands of views and comments.
Some netizens agreed with the man, claiming they too had recently noticed that petrol looked lighter in colour than usual.
Others argued that the appearance could be influenced by factors such as storage conditions, lighting, or camera angles, and that colour alone does not determine fuel quality.
